Nigel police are searching for several armed suspects who robbed the Mr Price Clothing store on December 21.
Police say between five and seven men stormed the store in Hendrik Verwoerd Street just before midday.
According to the store’s assisting manager Nthabiseng Mkawanazi, armed robbers assaulted the security guard as they entered the store and forced him at gunpoint to the cashiers.
“The robbers forced customers and staff in a corner and collected their valuables before they demanded the cashiers to empty the tills”, W/O Von Wielligh of SAPS Nigel said.
According to police, the robbers escaped in an unknown vehicle.
“There were no gun shots fired or serious injuries. The estimated loss is around R20 000”, W/O Von Wielligh reported.
