A young man from Ratanda was stabbed and died on the scene after a night out with his friends. The 21 year old left a local tavern at 02:00 on May 2 when he and his friends came across a group of people in Denne Avenue.
The two groups started insulting each other and a fight broke out. A 27 year old suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the deceased in the chest. The victim collapsed and bled profusely.
Paramedics tried to save him, but he died on the scene.
Detective Sergeant December Mateki and Detective Constable Luncedo Takela from Ratanda Police managed to track the suspect down and he was arrested on a charge of murder.
