The recovery was made on July 18, by patrolling officers BR Klein, PA Bennet and SW Gough.
They discovered the abandoned bakkie in Laver Street, after receiving a signal on their tracking device around 16:00 on July 18.
No arrests have been made yet, but the police are following up on leads.
The bakkie was impounded for further investigation.
