Aniah Success Okeke (38) has been operating in Heidelberg for some time and was first arrested in January last year when Heidelberg Police caught him red handed in his vehicle with drugs in his possession. However, the case was nullified to prosecute.
Warrant Officer Wollie Wolmarans and Sergeant Vusumuzi Zondo did not give up and in June last year when they spotted the same vehicle and driver parked in Zuid Street, Rensburg they investigated further. They searched his vehicle and found drugs with an estimated street value of R6 000 in his possession.
Magistrate Gerhard Strydom sentenced Okeke this morning to seven years imprisonment without the option of a fine. He was declared unfit to possess a firearm for the rest of his life.
