A security guard with a mother and her child were tied up by armed robbers in broad daylight on October 19.
Five robbers in a white Chevrolet bakkie approached the security guard at 11:30 at the entrance of the Bellisima complex in Hospital Street. They managed to overpower him and tied his hands and feet with cable ties.
They then went straight to the home of a Somali businessman where they held up his wife and child. The two were also tied up with cable ties before the robbers fled with a large amount of cash.
The getaway vehicle was captured on security cameras, but police found the numberplates to be false.
