Burglars broke into Mountain View High School in Bergsig in the early hours of October 19 and ransacked offices, the staff tea room, store rooms and even the sick bay.
The suspects broke the padlock on one of the main gates and entered the premises with an unidentified vehicle. Their first target was the headmaster’s office where they ripped out the alarm system.
They helped themselves to food and cool drinks while going through drawers. They stole various laptops and other items of value and even took blankets and pillows from the sick bay.
It is unclear why the security guard on duty did not hear or see anything and police are investigating the incident. If anyone has information about the burglary, they can phone Sergeant Vusumuzi Zondo on 082 822 8329.
