GS College victorious at college games

The purpose of the sports day was to select a team that will represent Mpumalanga in the national games.

The Gert Sibande TVET College team was crowned this year’s champions at the provincial annual College Sports, Arts and Culture South Africa (COSAACSA) games held at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium in Ermelo on Saturday.

Three colleges were scheduled to participate, namely Gert Sibande TVET College, Nkangala TVET College and Ehlanzeni TVET College.

However, Ehlanzeni could not make it to the games.

The purpose of the sports day was to select a team that will represent Mpumalanga in the national games.

The sporting codes played throughout the day were soccer, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, rugby, chess and netball.

GS College emerged victorious after securing the highest number of gold medals in most categories.

The college’s winning streak continues as they have also won the provincial and national choir competitions this year.

They will represent Mpumalanga in the national leg of the competition that will take place from 2 October in Cape Town.
