Reggies Masuku Secondary’s arguments’ take the top spot

WOF annually hosts provincial school debate competitions with the aim to educate the youth on environmental issues.

Working on Fire (WoF) programme recently hosted it’s annual school’s debate at Netherland Park Secondary School in Ermelo.

A total of five schools from Ermelo, namely, Netherland Park Secondary School, Reggie Masuku Secondary School, Camden Combined School, Ithafa Secondary School and Cebisa Secondary School, sent their best grade 8 and grade 9 debaters, to battle it out.
Topics for the debates were “Wildfires fuel climate change”, “The communities are at risk of wildfires and should take action to alleviate that risk in their homes” and “The costs of wildfire to the economy and environment can be mitigated through integrated fire management principles”.
All the schools were awarded certificates, as a token of appreciation from WoF, for participating.
