Chrissiesmeer police nabs three suspects with dagga worth R120 000

The dagga weighing about 82.70kg, has an estimated street value of about R120 000.

CHRISSIESMEER – Three suspects were nabbed with six bags of dagga on November 25.

According to Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a provincial police spokesperson, the officers were on patrol duty at about 01:30 on the N17 between Chrissiesmeer and Warburton, when they stopped an NP200 Nissan bakkie with three occupants.

“A search was conducted and six bags stashed with dagga were found hidden inside the vehicle,” Mohlala said.

The dagga weighing about 82.70kg, has an estimated street value of about R120 000.

The three suspects were arrested and charged with dealing in dagga.

They appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on November 25, and the case was postponed to November 29 for formal bail application.

The three, Mcebo Mkhotha (38), Mphumelele Dlamini (34) and Mabandla Dlamini (38), were remanded in custody.

The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela, has commended members for their unwavering way when it comes to elimination of all forms of drugs in the society.
