Breyten residents are frustrated with the municipality's continued neglect of the town's deteriorating roads, exemplified by a recent video of a truck stuck in a pothole.

BREYTEN – The state of Breyten’s roads remains a major concern, with residents voicing frustration over what they describe as ongoing municipal neglect.

On 11 February, the former principal of Laerskool Breyten, Louis Bates, shared a video showing a small truck stuck in a pothole in Sophie Street, highlighting the town’s crumbling infrastructure.

According to Bates, road maintenance has been inadequate for years, leaving residents and motorists to navigate a worsening situation.
