Electricity debt recovery system temporarily halted by Msukaligwa

Msukaligwa municipality has temporarily suspended its prepaid electricity debt recovery deductions for accounts with outstanding balances.

Msukaligwa Local Municipality has temporarily suspended its prepaid electricity debt recovery system while it integrates a new financial system.

The suspension affects the 75%/25% deduction mechanism normally applied to customers with outstanding balances.

During this period, prepaid electricity users in Ermelo will receive the full value of their purchases without deductions, meaning more units per transaction.

The municipality said the move is intended to minimise service interruptions and ensure continuity during the system transition.

However, it stressed that all outstanding debts remain valid and will continue to be recovered once the system is fully operational again.
