IEC registration weekend takes place this weekend

Eligible voters can register, update details or confirm information ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.

South Africans are encouraged to make use of the Electoral Commission’s (IEC) voter registration weekend taking place on Saturday and Sunday, ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.

The registration weekend gives eligible voters an opportunity to register to vote, update their registration details, or confirm that their information on the voters’ roll is correct.

Residents who normally register or vote at the Ermelo Sport Inn should note that the registration point has been moved.

An IEC registration tent will be set up opposite the NHK Church on the corner of Jackson Road and Dr Malan Street.

Voters are encouraged to visit their registration station this weekend to ensure they are correctly registered and ready to participate in the upcoming local government elections.

While registration stations will officially operate from 08:00 to 17:00, a local party representative has recommended that voters arrive from about 09:00 to ensure that registration facilities have been fully set up and are functioning smoothly.
