Ermelo vehicle licensing office closed due to non-payment of bills

Zwane said the provincial government has fallen behind on paying rent and services.

The Ermelo vehicle licensing office has been temporarily closed after the municipality switched off its electricity supply due to unpaid bills. This was confirmed by the Msukaligwa Local Municipality’s spokesperson, Mandla Zwane.

This power cut has caused a complete halt to all services, leaving residents frustrated.

The office had already been plagued by long queues and slow service, with many relying on third-party operators to stand in line on their behalf.

Zwane said the provincial government has fallen behind on paying rent and services, which led to the power cut.

For now, Ermelo residents will need to find alternative solutions for their vehicle registration needs while awaiting further updates from the authorities.
