Ermelo Toyota’s Aspirant Knights recently made a meaningful contribution to the CMR Youth Care Centre in town, donating a much-needed bath and sink to the facility.
The official handover took place on September 5.
Earlier this year, the Ermelo Toyota Knights hosted the Ermelo Toyota Legend Fest, an event aimed at raising funds for various charitable organisations within the community.
Theressa van der Walt, a former knight winner in the customer excellence category and an aspirant knight again this year, identified a pressing need at the centre, as some of the smaller children were being bathed in a basin, which presented challenges.
Thanks to the funds raised during the Legend Fest, a new bath was purchased and installed at the centre.
Trudy Gasibone, the social worker at CMR Youth Care Centre, expressed her gratitude to the Ermelo Toyota Aspirant Knights for their generosity and commitment.
She emphasised that the new bath would make a significant difference in the daily care of the children.
The donation was formally celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking the official handover of the bath to the centre.
Gasibone described the gesture as a tangible demonstration of care and community spirit.
The Ermelo Toyota Knights continue to show how local initiatives and community involvement can make a real impact on the lives of people in need.
