Coordinated security operation leads to arrests after remote jamming incident in Piet Retief
Strong intelligence sharing and rapid action played a key role in stopping suspects before they could escape.

EMKHONDO – A rapid, coordinated response by private security companies and law enforcement resulted in the arrest of suspects following a remote jamming and theft out of a motor vehicle incident at Woodhill Mall in eMkhondo (formerly Piet Retief).
According to ACSU Security Services, information about the incident was received shortly after it occurred, prompting an immediate response.
Critical intelligence relating to the suspects and their vehicle was quickly gathered and shared between multiple role players, allowing the operation to escalate beyond the local area.
As the suspects attempted to flee, security teams in neighbouring towns were placed on high alert.
This led to a developing pursuit involving several units and law enforcement agencies, with real-time communication playing a crucial role in tracking the suspects’ movements.
The operation concluded successfully after a coordinated effort involving private security and police, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects on a gravel road in the Kriel area.
No serious injuries were reported during the operation.
ACSU Security praised the level of cooperation between all parties involved, noting that the outcome highlights the importance of partnerships between private security, police, and community-based structures in addressing organised crime trends such as remote jamming.
Further details surrounding the arrests, roleplayers, and the broader operation will appear in Highvelder’s print edition.
