Eskom initiative brings essential equipment to Ermelo care facility

Camden Power Station and ESDEF donated kitchen equipment, hospital equipment, wheelchairs, industrial washing machines and bedding to Ermelo’s SAVF.

ERMELO – Camden Power Station, in partnership with the Eskom Development Foundation (ESDEF), recently donated essential equipment to the SAVF Old Age Home in Ermelo as part of a community investment initiative.

The donation included kitchen equipment, hospital equipment, wheelchairs, industrial washing machines and bedding.

The items are aimed at supporting the facility’s operational needs and improving the standard of care provided to residents.

Peter Lukhele, representing Camden’s executive management, said the initiative forms part of Eskom’s commitment to making a positive contribution in the communities where it operates.

He added that the donation is expected to assist in improving the quality of life of elderly residents.

Hein Mentz, speaking on behalf of the SAVF executive committee, expressed appreciation for the support received.

He said the donated equipment will make a significant contribution to the frail care unit, especially in assisting residents living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
