Parents of premature newborn plead for Ermelo community’s help

Project launched to assist the family of baby Ruhan, who was born prematurely at just 23 weeks and weighs only 830 g.

ERMELO – Community members are being urged to assist the family of baby Ruhan, who was born prematurely on June 13 and is currently fighting for survival after arriving at just 23 weeks of gestation.

According to Marelize Kirk, baby Ruhan weighed only 830 grams at birth.

She appealed to the community to help support his parents during this challenging time by donating secondhand baby items.

Community members who have baby items they no longer use are encouraged to donate them to the family.

Needed essentials include premature baby clothing, a cot, pram, car seat, blankets, baby bottles, breast pump and other baby essentials.

Kirk noted that any contribution, regardless of size, will help ease the burden on the family as they focus on caring for their newborn son.

Those wishing to donate can contact Kirk on 076 489 7895.
