Msobo Coal and Northern Coal donate 300 blankets for Mandela Day
Msobo Coal and Northern Coal marked Mandela Day by donating 300 blankets to elderly residents and people with disabilities across Carolina, Breyten and Chrissiesmeer.
CAROLINA -In celebration of Mandela Day, Msobo Coal and Northern Coal donated 300 blankets to elderly residents and people with disabilities in communities surrounding their operations on July 17.
A total of 200 blankets were distributed in the Carolina area to Vukuzenzele Care for the Aged, SAVF Carolina Ons Eie Tehuis NPO and Behuising NPO, and the Ulwazi Special Development Centre, which provides care and support to people with disabilities.
Another 100 blankets were donated in the Breyten and Chrissiesmeer areas.
The beneficiaries included KwaZanele Old Age Home in Breyten, Siyazinikela Care for the Aged in Chrissiesmeer, and elderly residents living on farms in the Chrissiesmeer area.
According to the companies, the initiative aimed to provide warmth and comfort to elderly and vulnerable residents during the cold winter months while honouring the spirit of Mandela Day through service to others.
Msobo Coal and Northern Coal said the outreach reflects their ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in which they operate by promoting compassion, dignity and care.
They will also donate school jerseys to 61 learners at Khonzakahle Primary School in Breyten.
