Four Lothair SAPS officers injured in N17 incident near Warburton
Four police officers were taken to Carolina Hospital after an incident involving two vehicles and a stray cow.
WARBURTON – Four police officers were injured in an incident involving a stray cow and two vehicles on the N17 near Warburton last night.
Information about the incident was shared on a local traffic alert group at about 19:40, when towing services indicated they were on their way to the scene.

According to Sergeant Nombuso Kubheka of Chrissiesmeer Police, the driver of a Toyota Hilux noticed the stray cow on the road but was unable to avoid it and struck the animal.
Kubheka said the cow subsequently also made contact with a marked Lothair SAPS vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
Four police officers were occupants of the SAPS vehicle. All four sustained injuries and were transported to Carolina Hospital for medical examination.
The Toyota Hilux also had four occupants, none of whom were injured.
Both vehicles sustained damage in the incident.
The cow died at the scene. Its owner had not been located.
