Msukaligwa Sports Council and Msukaligwa Local Municipality working with the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation and the Calstar Group hosted a sports tournament on Sunday at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium, Mpumalanga Stadium and the Ermelo Sport In.
The main objectives of the tournament was to increase awareness of sport, increase talent development and uplift the love of sport in and around Msukaligwa.
“We also want to introduce new sporting codes and inculcate the culture of sport as well as promote the Msukaligwa Sports Council to the public, various federations and sporting clubs,” said Msukaligwa Sport Council Chairman, Blessing Sibande.
Teams from across Msukaligwa converged on the different venues to participate in soccer, netball, tennis, basketball, touch rugby, chess, boxing and front ball.
The Breyten teams dominated across the board, getting podium finishes in all sports.
