Banda bringing sports into homes in Msukaligwa
The former soccer player, also known as Mr Banda, is making moves in sports commentary as his show hosts present and former sporting legends.

Musa Surprise Banda is a fountain of information on all things sports with soccer the love of his life.
The former soccer player, also known as Mr Banda, is making moves in sports commentary as his show hosts present and former sporting legends.

Born and bred in Mbombela (Nelspruit), White River in Chochocho, he gravitated towards soccer at a young age at school.
His dreams of playing in the big leagues began when he was scouted at the young age of 16, to play for the Lamontville Golden Arrows Development team.
It was there that his talent and skill were nurtured.
He played for the team for one season and moved on to play for Maritzburg City.
He went back to Nelspruit where he played for various clubs around the province.
Brazil FC and Witbank Aces are just two of many teams Banda has played for.
“I lived and breathed soccer.
“I travelled all over South Africa going to soccer trials so I would be noticed by scouts.”
Orlando Pirates and Santos Football Clubs are some of many soccer teams he has tried out for.
“Unfortunately I was not picked, but that did not deter me as I had the belief that I would be a professional soccer player.”
He has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Benedict Vilakazi, OJ Mabizela and Jimmy Tau during his trips.

During all the trials, he regularly played in the ABC Motsepe League for Mkhuhlu United and FC Sporting Hotspurs where he was chosen to represent Mpumalanga in the national championships.

“We eventually made it to the finals, but lost to the Free State.
“I enjoyed myself and some of my teammates were scouted and play for big-name clubs now.”
It was soccer that brought him to Ermelo where he played in the SAB Soccer League in the Gert
During this time he discovered his love for broadcasting.
He combined his love for soccer and media to create a sports show geared towards the ultimate sports lover.
He commentates on live matches, bringing the soccer match into the homes of the listeners.
Banda captivates with his Swati accent anyone willing to listen and never ending knowledge of the game.
“It is a newly discovered passion of mine and it is amazing how people have been so receptive towards the show.”
He has hosted legends of the soccer game and Pollen Ndlanya and Phil Masinga are regulars on the show.
After the show gained popularity, Banda decided to add more sports than just soccer.
The show features all kinds of sport with analysts, players and coaches using the platform to inform and educate listeners about various sporting codes.
“Listeners are more interested in local sport and sporting heroes.
“We can call all the famous people and interview them, but locals love their own.”
A devout Muslim, Banda grew up in the mosque.
He is one of nine children and a proud father.
Even though he lives for sport, he is a proud metrosexual who enjoys fashion and shopping.
Banda is not one to rest on his laurels as he runs a business, selling cosmetics.
His wishes to be on the big screen, analysing big teams and running commentary on big games.
“It is my destiny to be one of the greatest sports commentators of all time.
“I am working on it.”
