Local teams register wins in week 21 of SAB Soccer League

A total of nine matches were played with all local teams participating in this round at their home stadiums.

Week 21 of the SAB Soccer League kicked off at various stadiums in the Gert Sibande District over the weekend.

The locals took full advantage as all three teams emerged victorius, scoring 11 goals collectively.

VOC United FC took on PR Barcelona FC from Piet Retief that was looking to bounce back from a recent defeat.

The local side showed their mettle, securing a 2-1 victory in what was a tough encounter.

City Gunners FC were at their best, putting five goals past the Aveng Young Stars FC goalkeeper.

The SunCity team won the match 5-2.

Ermelo United rounded off the local matches, scoring four goals to win their match against Aramburg FC. The match ended 4-2.

Neighbours Breyten United FC also showed off their class with a 4-0 win over Manzana FC.

Their rivals, Breyten Home Sweepers FC, scraped through, beating the log leaders, Flymingo United FC, 1-0.

Somhlolo FC had four goals against Mafia FC to move to the top of the log on 45 points.

Flymingo United follow closely behind on 42 points, however, they are seperated by a goal difference from Mafia FC that are in third place on 42 points.

It is the battle of the Msukaligwa teams in the middle of the table with Breyten Home Sweepers FC in fourth place, also on 42 points.

They are constantly looking over their shoulders as VOC United who follow closely in fifth position on 41 points.

Breyten United are in sixth place on 38 points.

Ermelo United are improving, having registered a win and are currently in the 12th position on 21 points.

City Gunners occupy the 18th position on 18 points, while Stone Breakers are trying to move out of the relegation zone in 19th position on 12 points.

Aramburg seem to be stuck at the bottom of the log with just 10 points, having lost more matches than they have won.
