Shalom Marathon Club runners kick off their season participating in various marathons

Atletes will next participate in the Kosmos 3-in-1 Marathon set to take place at Lake Umuzi in Secunda on 9 March, where they are given the opportunity to run in all distances at once, which are the 10km, 21.1km and 42.2km races.

Ahtletes from the Shalom Marathon Club have had a busy start to the year and participated in various marathons in and around the region.

They kicked off the season at the 21km Dischem Marathon that took place in Bedfordview on 13 January and also took part in the 42km John Crane Marathon in Boksburg on 27 January.

The contingent from Ermelo also took part in the Shanduka Marathon in Middelburg on 3 February, as well as the Sasol Marathon in Secunda on 16 February.

A total of 22 runners ran the 10km, 21.1km and 42.2km in the Assegaai Marathon in Piet Retief on Saturday, 23 February.

The Shalom runners will next participate in the Kosmos 3-in-1 Marathon at Lake Umuzi in Secunda on 9 March.

This is also a chance for the runners to prepare for the annual Comrades Marathon that will take place in the middle of the year.
