Lumoja F.C. wins Gert Sibande District Municipality Super Cup
Lumoja F.C. walked away with the winner’s trophy, medals and R15 000 cheque prize money.
The Ermelo based ABC Motsepe League outfit, Lumoja F.C., are the new champions of the Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) Mayor’s Super Cup.
Lumoja beat Somhlolo Trust F.C. from Lothair 2-0 in the semi-final and held the tournament’s favourites at bay.
Tjakastad Junior Sheperds F.C., former champions from Tjakastad, had a hard-fought goalless draw to win the coveted title at the crowded AJ Swanepoel Stadium, on Saturday, 1 June.
Tjakastad beat Somhlolo Trust F.C. 2-1 to reach the final.
Lumoja F.C. walked away with the winner’s trophy, medals and R15 000 prize money.
Tjakastad Junior Sheperds F.C. received a R10 000 cash prize as well as medals, with Somhlolo Trust F.C. receiving R5 000 and medals.
