Ermelo rally racers put up a show for spectators

Local racers Wors Prinsloo, Johan Strauss, Kenneth Venter and Edward Strydom competed in this exciting event.

The 2019 Womza ARRO National Rally Championship’s round four took place in Ermelo on 21 September.

Spectators parked their cars next to the road to watch them.

Johan Strauss and his navigator drove the Subaru Impreza, and completed the seven stages in a time of 1:01;50, while Edward Strydom and his navigator, Larine Strydom, in the Toyota Tazz completed the race in a time of 1:12,12.

In the red Toyota Tazz, Kenneth Venter and his navigator, Kemaine Venter, completed the race in 1:14,31.

Wors Prinsloo and Johan Rousseau in the blue Ford Ranger V8 finished in 59:59.

The organisers thanked the sponsors and landowners who made their land available.

The sponsors of the event were Ermelo Toyota, Federal Stones from Middelburg, Ermelo Scrapcore, PC Transport, Pieterse and Co, Pansolutions and Purple Armadillo.

The landowners were Mr Oubaas de Jager, Mr Karel Steenkamp, Mr Lood de Jager and Mr Eben Kuhn.
