Gert Sibande Netball teams work up a sweat in Twizza Netball Championships
The clubs that competed in the Twizza Netball Club Championships will be given the opportunity to represent Gert Sibande at the provincial championships, with the option to advance to the national level should they win.

ERMELO – The Gert Sibande Netball Association drew 23 netball teams from the district to the AJ Swanepoel Sports Complex on May 14.
According to Mr Xolani Gumede, the association’s secretary, the goal of the day was to bring the community and regional netball teams together to enjoy a day of sports.
The clubs that competed in the Twizza Netball Club Championships will be given the opportunity to represent Gert Sibande at the provincial championships, with the option to advance to the national level should they win.
The male and female players worked up a sweat on the netball court.
“We sincerely hope that by participating in such initiatives, we will help keep young people interested in sports and create a buzz in the netball community in Gert Sibande.”
The championship was played in a round robin format, which these four teams are now leading:
1. Thunder Girls A of Breyten
2. Sasol Kinross A of Kinross
3. Rockstars A of Piet Retief
4. Sakhile NC of Standerton.
Gert Sibande had two male teams competing in netball champions previously, but their numbers have since grown and they currently have six male clubs associated with Gert Sibande Netball Association.
The top four male clubs taking the lead in the Twizza Netball Championships are:
1. Sasol Juventus of eMbalenhle
2. Thunderboys of Breyten
3. Mkhondo males of Piet Retief
4. Windy City of Empuluzi Mayflower.
