Runners brave misty weather in Ermelo during TWK Marathon
According to Mr. Andries Koekemoer, chairperson of the Ermelo Marathon Club, some of the runners participated in the 42.2km, 10km, and 21.1 km runs, with the winners receiving cash prizes.
The Ermelo Marathon Club hosted the TWK Four-in-One Highveld Marathon on June 11, which had the athletes brave the misty weather for a run.
The marathon, which was also a Comrades qualifier race, was the first to be held in Ermelo in a long time.

The fun run part of the day began at Laerskool JJ van der Merwe and ended on the Morgenzon Road, with the runners receiving refreshments along the way.

Various stakeholders and sponsors took part in the marathon, including Laerskool JJ van der Merwe, Frogfoot, Pro Build Ermelo, the traffic department, Jacks Paint, Fire and Signs, Gateway City Church and Ermelo Toyota.
“We would like to thank everyone who took part in this initiative, especially our athletes. They have been great and the day ended on a high note,” Mr Koekemoer said.
