Ermelo hosts annual MOTH Bowls Tournament as veterans compete for honours
Military veterans from across South Africa gathered in Ermelo for a week of bowls competition, fellowship and remembrance at the annual tournament.
The annual MOTH Bowls Tournament has brought 64 military veterans representing 16 teams from 10 Shellholes to Ermelo, with the tournament concluding tomorrow, July 16.
Hosted by the Monte Sole Shellhole, the tournament officially opened on July 12 at the Ermelo Bowling Club and marks the first time the local Shellhole has hosted the event in Ermelo.

It is also only the second tournament to be held under the MOTH Bowls Tournament name after being renamed from the MOTH Nationals Tournament.

Founded in 1927, the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (MOTH) promotes true comradeship, mutual help and sound memory.
Those values remain central to the annual tournament, which combines competitive bowls with fellowship among military veterans from across South Africa.
