HIGHWAY residents flocked to Everton Park to take part in the Everton Conservancy’s annual Garden Party fundraiser.
Despite a chill in the air, more than 100 people gathered at the park last Sunday and lay down their picnic blankets, sat back and relaxed while the children made delicious stok brood.
The increasingly popular event offered residents a delicious lunch, which was prepared by the conservancy committee, as they listened to the relaxing tunes of the George Mari Band.
The work the conservancy does is critical to sustaining the natural biodiversity in the area and it relies on the contributions from local residents as well as the funds that are generated at this yearly event.
