THREE scouts, Steffen Wies, Rudi Wies and Chahil Ramharakh, of the 1st Cowies Hill Scout group received the Springbok award.
According to scout master, Pedro da Silva, the boys have been involved with the scout group since the age of 10.
They’ve learnt all kinds of discipline, leadership skills, programming, organisation, time management and team work.
The boys had to do community service projects, which qualified them for this prestigious award – which is also the highest award in the scouts movement.
Chahil was involved with the Durban Children’s Home where he helped in refurbishing a bedroom. Rudi created a pathway (hiking trail) in Drakensberg for underprivileged children from Restmont’s Children’s Home and Steffan assisted in renovations and upgrades to Krantzkloof Primary School in KwaDabeka.
“I’m very impressed with the boys’ progress throughout the year and wish them the best for the future,” said da Silva.
