Musicians reunite on stage

Musos, Steve Fataar and Jack Mantis take to the stage for one night only.

BLUESTOCKINGS music club presents a night with Jack Mantis and Steve Fataar at a private venue in Kloof on Saturday 25 January at 7pm.

The performance is an intimate visual and musical expose of Jack’s recent trip to the Amazon.

Steve and Jack first met in 2002 at the Flux Music Festival while touring the same circuit. They fell instantly into music with each other, and through a series of serendipitous events have enjoyed each others musical and personal souls to the fullest.

Jack said Steve had taught him so much about being humble with music, and the audience.

“When working with other musicians outside my band, it can sometimes take a while to find the right synergy and chemistry to reach perfect harmony. But with Steve it has always been effortless. Jamming with him is one of my favorite pastimes and I’m really happy to have the opportunity to share the experience with the audience,” said Jack.

Jack has just returned from an expedition across the globe, sailing from Cape Town to Brazil, via Namibia and St Helena Island. He landed in Port Natal in Brazil, and from there paddled alone up the Amazon to live with the Dessana tribe. Spanning 5000 nautical miles and trekking 4000 miles across Brazil and Venezuela to reach Angel Falls, from where he reconnected with Yacht Hadar in Trinidad before sailing the Caribbean.

Tickets for this show is R100 each. Booking is essential. Contact Narene on 083 659 3628.
