KLOOF High School soccer team took part in the Grey College Soccer Tournament recently and bagged a shiny silver second place when it drew to a close.
The team had a slow start to the tournament when they drew their match against Durban High School but picked up the pace when they beat Pinetown Boys’ High School and their closest rivals, Hillcrest High School. The wins fired them up and made them determined to climb up the leaderboard.
On the way they beat Jeppe High School and also managed to defeat Louis Botha Technical High School in the semi-finals. This left their old rival, Brebner High School, in the finals, who eventually nabbed the number one spot. The Kloof team all received medals for being placed second in the tournament and Brian Khuzwayo was named striker of the tournament. He was awarded a trophy, a new pair of Addidas soccer boots and a voucher from Sportsman’s Warehouse.
