SEVEN acrobats took part in the Integrated Artistic Acrobatic Association of South Africa Festival recently and brought home seven gold medals.

Three students from the Anwyn Winterbach Academy in Westville and four students from the Dance Direction International in Glenwood, all under the tutelage of Anwyn Winterbach, competed in the acrobatic festival in Randfontein recently.

Seven acrobatic dance schools from across South Africa took part in the competition and even though the competition was fierce, the local group won the IAAASA Intermediate Open Group Any Age trophy. Megan Hadden, one of the students, won the trophy for the pre-Intermediate 16 years and over trophy while her sister, Louise, was the runner up in second place. The group achieved seven gold medals, 11 silver medals, three bronze medals and six of the seven students received their IAAASA colours.
