Taxi driver injured in collision

A man was seriously injured when the taxi he was driving ploughed into a truck in Westmead.

A TAXI driver is in serious, but stable condition following an accident earlier this morning (Monday, 8 December) in Hillclimb Road in Westmead, Pinetown.

ER24 paramedics on scene said a taxi and truck driver ploughed into each other leaving the driver of the taxi entrapped in the vehicle.

It is believed passers-by pulled the taxi driver out of the vehicle. The man suffered injuries to his neck and back, lacerations to the face and a broken leg.

“He was treated on scene and transported to RK Khan Hospital. The truck driver did not sustain injuries,” said Chitra Bodasing, ER24 spokesman.
