Eight people were injured in two separate accidents in Malvern on New Year's Eve.

EIGHT people sustained various injuries in two separate accidents within two hours of each other in the Malvern area on 31 December.

In the first accident, Rescue Care paramedics were called to Ridley Park Road near River Drive around 6.30pm for a collision involving two cars.

“On arrival paramedics found that two vehicles had collided in the roadway. A total of five people had sustained various injuries and were stabilised on scene before being transported to various Durban hospitals,” said Rescue Care’s Garrith Jamieson.

Just as Rescue Care paramedics finished at this incident, they were again called to the Malvern area for a serious collision at the intersection of  Stella Road and Valley View Road just before 8pm.

“Rescue Care paramedics arrived to find that two vehicles had collided in the intersection in a T-bone format. A total of three people had sustained various injuries and advanced life support intervention was required to stabilise two of the injured.
