THE YOUNGEST of a set of triplets, Theesan Naicker’s mature approach to life and cricket has earned him the title of Kloof High School’s SPAR Star of the Month. Theesan recently joined Kloof High School, but he has quickly made his presence felt. His excellent cricket and leadership skills has also earned him the honour of captaining the school’s 1st XL Cricket side this term. He is a right-handed opening batsman and a more than useful off-spin bowler. He has scored 260 runs in 7 innings this season averaging 37 with the bat. He sets high standards for himself and there is no doubt that this average will push up in the second half of the season later this year. Stand out knocks: 105 runs against Howick. This came off 122 balls and included nine 4’s and one 6. He followed this up with a good bowling performance as well (6 overs, 2 wickets for 15 runs). He also scored 80 runs off 107 balls against Thomas More that included six 4’s and one 6. He also made a valuable contribution with the ball in this match bowling 10 overs taking one wicket for 35 runs.
