THE ADAGE dynamite comes in small packages aptly describes 11-year-old Mbali Mkhize who is known as the shot put champ at her school. Mbali, a Grade 6 pupil, at Forest View Primary School has been chosen as the school’s SPAR Star of the Month for her outstanding performance in the shot put events that she competed in thus far. The ambitious pupil recently earned the title of KZN champ in her age category after she went up against 14 other pupils who competed in the championships. Sometimes, it makes me nervous.” Mbali who resides in Botha’s Hill, started pursuing her passion for the sport last year and she is determined to continue competing in upcoming championships.
