“No matter your circumstances, there is always hope’’

Ndlunkulu Thandeka Mkhize will speak her message of hope at the Robin Hood Foundation’s ‘Future Women of Africa’ conference taking place on 28 and 29 July.

THE Robin Hood Foundation will be holding a ‘Future Women of Africa’ conference on 28 and 29 July at CityHill Church in Hillcrest.

One of the guest speakers lined up is Ndlunkulu Thandeka Mkhize. She is the wife of Chief Mkhize of Embo, a mother of three and a teacher at Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy.

Ndlunkulu sits on a number of committees with the aim of making an impact on the people in her community. Her message to the conference delegates and other young women of South Africa, “There is always hope! No matter what your circumstances are, there is hope.’’

Over and above the knowledge, which will inspire and ignite them, each delegate will receive a Wonderbag.

The Wonderbag was created by Sarah Collins to ease the impact of health, social, economic and environmental problems facing Africa and developing countries. It has enhanced rural women’s quality of life by drastically reducing time spent cooking. These women need much less wood to feed their cooking fires and, in turn, they and their children do not inhale as much hazardous smoke and the risk of burns are reduced.

The Wonderbag factories have produced hundreds of Wonderbags each day to meet local and international demand. A percentage of the proceeds from each Wonderbag purchased is donated to the Wonderbag Foundation, helping them put Wonderbags into the hands of poverty-stricken communities.

Since the bag launched in 2008, over 700 000 bags have been distributed throughout Africa to families in need.

The two-day educational conference is free to all delegates.
