Two children, aged 7, injured in collision
Two children were seriously injured after a car slammed into a truck on the N3 near Shongweni.
A BOY and a girl, both aged seven, were seriously injured after the car they were travelling in slammed into a truck on the N3 south-bound near the Shongweni off-ramp on Saturday afternoon, 25 July.
According to Netcare 911’s spokesman, Chris Botha, the car was travelling north when it veered off the road, hurtled across the centre median and then slammed into a truck.
“Paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that the two children had sustained very serious injuries,” said Botha.
The children were treated at the scene and skilfully immobilised on trauma boards. Thereafter, paramedics transported them to a hospital in Durban for further specialised care.
