Robbers steal nuclear testing machine

Police are asking for assistance in tracing six men who stole a nuclear density testing machine with a dangerous chemical inside.

POLICE are appealing to anyone who may have information about a nuclear density testing machine that was stolen in Inchanga on Tuesday, 18 August.

According to Pinetown SAPS communications officer, Lt Bongumusa Manqele, it is alleged that six armed men entered a construction site along Inchanga main road and stole construction equipment.

“It is alleged that the men threatened two security guards with guns and took some items, and among them was a nuclear density testing machine with a dangerous chemical inside.

“Anyone who can assist the police can urgently contact the investigating officer, Det/Cst Nkosikhona Phetha of the Pinetown Trio Task Team on 031 325 5040 during office hours or Crime Stop on 086 001 0000.
