Man killed in Wyebank tavern

The suspect was caught before he could flee the scene of the crime.

A MAN was killed during an argument that took place in an unlicensed tavern in Wyebank during the early hours of Sunday morning, 27 September at around 4am.

According to Pinetown SAPS communication officer, Cst Phindile Radebe, the 30-year-old man was eating at the tavern when he was confronted by another man, who then stabbed him multiple times.

Members of the Zamokuhle community who witnessed the stabbing incident caught the suspect before he could flee the scene of the crime and attacked him.

The badly-beaten suspect was arrested and taken to hospital, where he is currently under police guard. “Once he has recovered he will be officially charged with murder and appear in court,” said Radebe.
