Murdered Siam Lee laid to rest

Siam Lee's body‚ which had been held for several weeks at a state mortuary‚ had been released to her mother earlier this week after DNA conclusively identified her.

NEARLY two months after she was reportedly abducted and murdered Siam Lee’s body was finally laid to rest.

The 20-year-old disappeared in Durban North on 4 January, and her burnt body was found in a sugarcane field near New Hanover a few days later.

According to reports, Lee was laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by her close family and friends at the Stellawood Chapel on Friday, 2 March.

Her body‚ which had been held for several weeks at a state mortuary‚ had been released to her mother earlier this week, after DNA conclusively identified her.

Her alleged killer who resides in Assagay was arrested last month and moved to Westville prison two weeks ago.

He is expected to apply for bail at the Durban Regional Court this Wednesday, 7 March.
