Duncan is always ready for a challenge

Duncan Roberts is Highbury's SPAR Star of the Month.

BEING the star of Highbury Lego Robotics Coding programme has led to Grade 3 learner, Duncan Roberts being chosen as Highbury’s SPAR Star of the month.

Duncan’s teacher, Taryn Wilson, said robotics has taken Highbury by storm and Duncan is one little man who has jumped at the opportunity to show how talented he is at Lego building and Robotic Coding.

“To some, coding may be as complex as learning a foreign language, but it is a language that Duncan is proving to be fluent in,” said Wilson.

Duncan’s father, Stuart Roberts, said Duncan has always loved problem-solving challenges. “Last year I heard about Code Combat, a browser-based educational game that teaches players the skills of computer programming.

“Duncan gave it a try and basically starting learning to write code while having fun,” he said.

Coding is a core 21st century skill and the school is proud of Duncan for all he has learned at home and at Highbury.
