Georgia shines on stage

St Mary's DSG primary school SPAR Star of the Month - May 2018.

GEORGIA Pollock is a Grade 6 learner at St Mary’s DSG, Kloof and is the school’s primary school SPAR Star of the Month.

Apart from being a talented sportswoman and all-rounder she recently took part in the school’s speech and drama festival and shone on stage. Georgia was involved in two class choral verses, one in English and the other in Afrikaans. She was also elected to take part on an individual level by performing a monologue. This is a speech performed by one actor on a dramatic platform.

Georgia’s elected piece to perform was Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Her presentation was outstanding and she was chosen to perform her monologue at the school’s speech and drama showcase events the following week. Georgia displays a natural flair for the dramatic arts and is commended on her enthusiasm, commitment and final presentation of her monologue.

At the end of the festival, a learner from the school was recognised as having great potential in the field of dramatic arts. The learner identified this year was Georgia.

“We would like to congratulate Georgia on this outstanding achievement and look forward to her involvement in the drama programme here at St Mary’s in the years to come,” said the school’s marketing and communications administrator, Lisa Abbott.
