Grace counts her successes

Thomas More College's junior primary SPAR Star of the Month - June 2018.

THOMAS More College’s primary school SPAR Star of the Month is Grade 7 learner, Grace Youldon.

She was selected to participate in the 15th International Maths and Science Olympiad (IMSO) in September in Hangzhou, China.

“She is very excited to be travelling with the team, led by Kitty Phillips, along with five other maths and six science learners from the KZN area,” said her proud dad, Rodney.

“They will be doing extra lessons every week, including a study camp during the school holidays to try to bring home some medals.”

“The competition is hosting learners from about 20 different countries and will be a celebration of diversity as much as a motivator of excellence in these subjects,” concluded Rodney.

Grace is a vibrant and active girl who, besides her love for numbers, participates in multiple activities both in and out of school, ranging from piano, marimbas, choir, netball, hockey, athletics and horse riding.
