The future is in their hands

In an empowerment initiative launched by Westville SAPS, learners were invited to participate in debates and talks.

STAR College learners were invited by Westville SAPS to participate in debates and public speaking exercises with senior police officials at station, cluster and provincial levels.

Grade 8 learner, Jafar Ojugbele, took part at a recent presentation at the Westville Police Station and his topic was, If I was a Station Commander of Westville SAPS, this is what I would do to make the community safer.

Jafar spoke with conviction and offered many ideas, which impressed the members of the local SAPS.

Constable Wynand Laatz will mentor Jafar in the future as a representative of Star College as he takes part in this project.

“Star College would like to thank Westville SAPS for such a wonderful initiative,” said the PA to the principal, Sara Hayden.
