THE imagination and talent of Grade 9 boys at Kearsney College was once again evident with their creative models depicting aspects of World War 11.
The school’s annual Historyonix Expo was won by Matthew McMurray and Noah Dammann for their model of The Great Escape, a detailed and fascinating cross section of a Prisoner of War camp, which the judges deemed worthy of being in a museum.
Entries were judged according to various criteria, including visual appeal, effective use of space, interactivity, interpretation and translation of historical fact through planning, research and creativity.
The judges were impressed by the second placed life-size World War 11 Anderson Air Raid Shelter which was the submission from Declan Sumner.
Kearsney’s Tyler Gray worked together with German exchange student, Noah Hohwiller. They won third place for their Wooden Horse Prisoner of War Escape model.
