New look for Hillcrest Hospice shop opens

The charity shops form an important role in the fund-raising of the Highway Hospice.

A TEAM of volunteers has given the Hospice Shop, situated off Old Main Road, in Margaret Road, Hillcrest, a much needed facelift.

“By giving it a new look, we have created a far better shopping environment and have added super merchandise for the relaunch,” said Sheryl De Jager of Highway Hospice.

‘We have an excellent variety of books, super ornaments and a new system of displaying clothes. There is a special Christmas section and a revamped toy section, with masses of puzzles. Shoes are very big sellers and we have a magnificent selection on offer.”

Claire Bolstridge led the relaunch team with fabulous fresh paint ideas to introduce colour and light into the shelving and picture displays.

“It’s all about creating an inviting environment so shoppers feel at home and enjoy the shopping experience. By sorting merchandise and displaying it in an attractive way, we know the shelves will be emptied on day one!” said Claire.

The revamp was funded by Ardmore who donated items for a raffle at the recent Devi Govender breakfast. Charities rely more and more on donors who share their talents and donate items to sell.
