Traffic was affected on Monday afternoon when a part of the M7 highway, running through Queensburgh, had to be closed off as a crime scene.

THE stretch of the M7, between the Bellville bridge on-ramp, west bound to the M7 off-ramp, was closed on Monday (15 June) afternoon following a shooting.

According to a source, who was sending messages from the road via a traffic alert Whatsapp group, the road had to be closed in both directions as a crime scene while police searched the area.

As at 2.30pm all emergency services were apparently on the scene, with reports from the street being shared including information that suspects who had been shooting had fled in a red vehicle.
