Inchanga SAPS calls on community to join CPF

The Inchanga Police Station is calling on the community to help them fight crime and join the CPF.

THE Inchanga Police Station is calling on residents to get involved in fighting crime by signing up to their Community Policing Forum (CPF) which plays a vital role in improving safety and security across the four wards it serves.

The CPF brings together the police and community members, creating space for open dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility in addressing crime and related challenges.

“We encourage all residents to join the CPF and take part in our monthly meetings. These meetings allow the community to raise concerns, suggest solutions, and stay informed. Together, we can identify and deal with crime hotspots before they escalate,” said Station Commander Mbongeni Ngubane.

One of the current concerns being tackled by the Inchanga CPF is the growing number of illegal pubs operating in the area, which Ngubane says are becoming crime hotspots. “We believe some of these illegal establishments are contributing to criminal activity. We need the community’s support to monitor and report them.”

The Sterkspruit CPF Sub-Forum, which falls under Inchanga SAPS, covers the areas of Drummond and Peacevale and is actively recruiting more members. Its chairman, Aaron Blackburn, urges residents and businesses in these areas to get involved.

“The CPF helps bridge the gap between the public and the police. We all want to live in a safe environment, and the only way to achieve that is by working together. If we stand united, we can truly make our community a safe place for everyone,” he said.

Residents interested in joining or learning more about the CPF are encouraged to attend the next monthly meeting or contact Station Commander Mbongeni Ngubane at 082 418 1845.
